Västra Ingelstad IS was one of 100 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Skånecupen 2017. They participated with three teams in Pojkar 9 Lätt- födda -08 el. senare , Pojkar 9 Svår- födda -08 el. senare and Flickor 11 - födda -06 el. senare respectively. Three teams played until in Gruppspel; Pojkar 9 Lätt- födda -08 el. senare , Pojkar 9 Svår- födda -08 el. senare and Flickor 11 - födda -06 el. senare .

In addition to this, Västra Ingelstad IS have participated in Skånecupen before. During Skånecupen 2016, Västra Ingelstad IS had two teams playing in Pojkar 9 - födda -07 el. senare and Pojkar 11 - födda -05 el. senare respectively. The team in Pojkar 9 - födda -07 el. senare made it to the the in Gruppspel, but lost it against Kulladals FF 2 by 1-1.

Västra Ingelstad IS comes from Vellinge which lies approximately 13 km from Malmö, where Skånecupen takes place. The area around Vellinge does also provide 77 additional clubs participating during Skånecupen 2017 (Among others: Limhamn Bunkeflo 2007 (LB07), Skegrie BK, Skanör Falterbo IF, IFK TRELLEBORG FK, Dösjöbro IF, FC Rosengård, Algeriskaföreningen i Malmö, FCR Akademi, Lunds BK F14 and BK Olympic).
