SG Flensburg Handewitt was one of five clubs from Germany that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They participated with two teams in Elit Herr. The team in Elit Herr made it to the the Final in A-Slutspeland won it over IFK Kristianstad 1 by 10-9.
SG Flensburg Handewitt originates from Åhus, which is the same city as where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place.
