Team van Stam was one of 324 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They participated with one team in Öppen klass Damer.
In addition to Team van Stam, 31 other teams played in Öppen klass Damer. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Team van Stam could be found in Group 2 together with Stavstens vänner 1, Uffes Brudar, H 65 Höör, Hultic BK Åby, As-kalas, Resten and Strömstad HK. Team van Stam continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Åhus Handboll with 10-12. In the Final, Uffes Brudar won over IK Lågan Hörby and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Öppen klass Damer. Team van Stam comes from Skövde which lies approximately 270 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place.
