In addition to the two Ljunghusens teams, 42 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Ljunghusens HK 1 could be found in Group 2 together with Trelleborg HBK 2, Halmstad Handboll 3, Eslövs HF 3, Ronneby HK, IK Lågan Hörby 2, IF Guif Eskilstuna 2, Alingsås HK 2, H43 Lund 1, IFK Kristianstad 2 and Ystads IF HF 3.

Ljunghusens HK 1 continued to C-Slutspel after reaching 10:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Karlskrona Handboll 2 with 4-5. In the Final, Ljunghusens HK 2 won over HK Hök Laholm and became the winner of C-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D1.
