In addition to the two Ljunghusens teams, 41 other teams played in Flickor 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Ljunghusens HK 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Kristianstad HK 1, Hammarby IF Sthlm, Trelleborg HBK 1, Vinslövs HK 1, LVHK Lödde 1, Näsby Handboll 2, Eslövs IK 2, IK Lågan Hörby, H43 Lund 3 and Bjärnums HK.

Ljunghusens HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Eslövs IK 1 with 2-11. In the Final, Alingsås HK 2 won over Eslövs IK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2006 D1.
