In addition to the two Alingsås teams, 41 other teams played in Flickor 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Alingsås HK 2 could be found in Group 2 together with Tollarps IF 2, Ronneby HK 2, Trelleborg HBK 2, Ystads IF HF, Åhus Handboll 2, LVHK Lödde 4, Kristianstad HK 3, Ljunghusens HK 2, Gökstens BK Torshälla and Staffanstorps HK.

Alingsås HK 2 made it to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 2. Once in the playoff they won every match inluding the Final against Eslövs IK 3, which they won with 11-10. Thereby Alingsås HK 2 won the entire A-Slutspel in Flickor 2006 D1 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016.
