Sörhaga HK was one of 324 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They participated with one team in Öppen klass Herrar.

In addition to Sörhaga HK, 31 other teams played in Öppen klass Herrar. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Sörhaga HK could be found in Group 3 together with Almostpromkings, Lasse spadez, Blom City Acadamy HK, Team Thorsson, Sannadals, Danny D & the Chewbaccafaccas and Mormors pojkar.

Sörhaga HK continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Blom City Acadamy HK with 11-14. In the Final, Blom City Acadamy HK won over KSK ULTRAS and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Öppen klass Herrar.

Sörhaga comes from Alingsås which lies approximately 250 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place. The area around Alingsås does also provide 17 additional clubs participating during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016 (Among others: Alingsås HK, Redbergslids IK Gbg, Trötta fotbollsspelare, Kärra HF Göteborg, Div2podden, dead man walking, Grabbarna Grus, Borås HK 84, IK Sävehof Partille and Nossebro IF).
