As-kalas was one of 324 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They participated with one team in Öppen klass Damer.
In addition to As-kalas, 31 other teams played in Öppen klass Damer. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof As-kalas could be found in Group 2 together with Stavstens vänner 1, Team van Stam, Uffes Brudar, H 65 Höör, Hultic BK Åby, Resten and Strömstad HK. As-kalas continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IK Lågan Hörby with 6-12. In the Final, Uffes Brudar won over IK Lågan Hörby and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Öppen klass Damer. As-kalas comes from Karlstad which lies approximately 390 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place.
