They participated with three teams in Pojkar 2004 C2, Elit Herr and Öppen klass Damer respectively. The team in Elit Herr made it to the the Semi final in A-Slutspel, but lost it against SG Flensburg Handewitt 1 by 6-10. In addition to this, HK Malmö have participated in Åhus Beachhandboll Festival before. During Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016, Malmö had two teams playing in Pojkar 2004 C1 and Flickor 2006 D1 respectively. The team in Flickor 2006 D1 made it to the the Semi final in C-Slutspel, but lost it against Halmstad Handboll 1 by 2-7. Malmö comes from Malmö which lies approximately 90 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place.
