In addition to Västerås Irsta HF, 58 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Västerås Irsta HF could be found in Group 2 together with HK Aranäs Kungsbacka 2, IK Lågan Hörby 2, Staffanstorps HK Abasi, HK Hök Laholm 1, IFK Tumba Sthlm, Ronneby HK, IFK Malmö HF, Vinslövs HK and Åhus Handboll 1.
