In addition to the two IFK Ystad teams, 41 other teams played in Pojkar 2008 E. They were divided into 9 different groups, whereof IFK Ystad HK 1 could be found in Group 5 together with Eslövs HF 1, IFK Kristianstad 5, Åhus Handboll 2 and Halmstad Handboll 1.

IFK Ystad HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Uppsala HK with 6-14. In the Final, Ystads IF HF 2 won over HK Ankaret Bjärred 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2008 E.
