In addition to the two Vetlanda teams, 58 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Vetlanda HF 1 could be found in Group 6 together with Mönsterås HK, Trelleborg Handbollsklubb 1, Kävlinge HK 1, Åhus Handboll 3, Uppsala HK 3, H43 Lund HF Big Ballers, Halmstad Handboll 3, IFK Tumba HK 1 and Hammarby IF HF 3.

Vetlanda HF 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 1 with 11-15. In the Final, IFK Kristianstad 1 won over Ystads IF HF 3 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002.

Vetlanda HF also participated in Pojkar 2002 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017. They reached the 1/4 Final in P02 C-Slutspel, but lost it against HK Eklöven with 10-15.
