In addition to the three Halmstad teams, 57 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 3 could be found in Group 6 together with Mönsterås HK, Trelleborg Handbollsklubb 1, Kävlinge HK 1, Åhus Handboll 3, Uppsala HK 3, H43 Lund HF Big Ballers, IFK Tumba HK 1, Hammarby IF HF 3 and Vetlanda HF 1.
Halmstad Handboll 3 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund HF migogang with 5-10. In the Final, H43 Lund HF migogang won over IK Sävehof 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002. Halmstad Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2002 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017.
