In addition to the two Vetlanda teams, 76 other teams played in Pojkar 2004. They were divided into 8 different groups, whereof Vetlanda HF 1 could be found in Group 5 together with Skuru IK 2, Alingsås HK 5, Ljunghusens HK, IFK Kristianstad 4, Halmstad Handboll 3, IK Bolton 2, H43 Lund HF 5, Borlänge HK 2 and IK Sund 1.

Vetlanda HF 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 8:th place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll with 3-13. In the Final, Eskilstuna Guif IF won over Vinslövs HK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2004.
