In addition to the two Alingsås teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Alingsås HK 1 could be found in Group 6 together with LVHK Lödde, Karlskrona Handboll 2, Åhus Handboll 2, Tollarps IF, Eslövs HF 3, IK Bolton Sthlm 1, HK Eskil Eskilstuna and IFK Kristianstad 3.

Alingsås HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Uppsala HK 3 with 7-15. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
