In addition to the three Kävlinge teams, 67 other teams played in Pojkar 2005 D2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Kävlinge HK 1 could be found in Group 6 together with Halmstad Handboll 1, H43 Lund 3, LVHK Lödde 1, Åhus Handboll 1, Västerås Irsta HF 1, Täby HBK Sthlm 1, Ystads IF HF 3, IK Sävehof Partille and Ronneby HK 1.

Kävlinge HK 1 made it to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 6. Once in the playoff they won every match inluding the Final against H43 Lund 3, which they won with 9-7. Thereby Kävlinge HK 1 won the entire B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2005 D2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016.
