In addition to the two Kristianstad teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Kristianstad HK 1 could be found in Group 3 together with Åhus Handboll 3, Ystads IF HF 1, Skogås HK Sthlm 2, Borlänge HK, Ronneby HK 1, H43 Lund 4, Strömstad HK, IF Hallby HK and IF Guif Eskilstuna 1.

Kristianstad HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IK Sund Helsingborg with 8-16. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
