In addition to the three Åhus teams, 63 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 3 could be found in Group 3 together with Ystads IF HF 1, Skogås HK Sthlm 2, Borlänge HK, Ronneby HK 1, H43 Lund 4, Strömstad HK, Kristianstad HK 1, IF Hallby HK and IF Guif Eskilstuna 1.

Åhus Handboll 3 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund 3 with 9-10. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
