In addition to the three Åhus teams, 67 other teams played in Pojkar 2005 D2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 1 together with Halmstad Handboll 4, IFK Kristianstad 3, HK Hök Laholm 1, IFK Malmö HF, H 78 Sölvesborg, IFK Ystad HK 1, Hammarby IF Sthlm, Kävlinge HK 3 and IFK Bankeryd 1.

Åhus Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against HK Aranäs Kungsbacka 2 with 7-8. In the Final, LVHK Lödde 1 won over IFK Bankeryd 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2005 D2.
