In addition to the three Åhus teams, 67 other teams played in Pojkar 2005 D2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 1 could be found in Group 6 together with Halmstad Handboll 1, H43 Lund 3, LVHK Lödde 1, Västerås Irsta HF 1, Täby HBK Sthlm 1, Ystads IF HF 3, IK Sävehof Partille, Kävlinge HK 1 and Ronneby HK 1.

Åhus Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against IFK Bankeryd 1 with 6-7. In the Final, LVHK Lödde 1 won over IFK Bankeryd 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2005 D2.
