In addition to the two Alingsås teams, 47 other teams played in Pojkar 1999 A2. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Alingsås HK 2 could be found in Group 1 together with Vadstena HF 2, Eslövs HF 2, Halmstad Handboll 2, Malmslätts HF Linköping, Hultsfreds HF, H43 Lund 2, IFK Tumba Sthlm 3, IFK Kristianstad 3 and Staffanstorps HK.

Alingsås HK 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Lugi HF 1 with 5-10. In the Final, Lugi HF 1 won over Borlänge HK 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 1999 A2.
