In addition to the four Ystads teams, 66 other teams played in Pojkar 2005 D2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Ystads IF HF 4 could be found in Group 5 together with Eslövs HF 1, Alingsås HK 2, IFK Kristianstad 2, HK Hök Laholm 2, Karlskrona Handboll 2, H43 Lund 1, H 65 Höör 2, Åkersberga HK and Kävlinge HK 2.

Ystads IF HF 4 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Bankeryd 1 with 6-10. In the Final, LVHK Lödde 1 won over IFK Bankeryd 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2005 D2.
