In addition to Tomelilla IF, 69 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Tomelilla IF could be found in Group 2 together with LVHK Lödde, Eslövs HF 2, IFK Kristianstad 2, Ystads IF HF 5, IFK Tumba Sthlm, HK Aranäs Kungsbacka 1, H43 Lund 4, Växjö HF and H 65 Höör.

Tomelilla IF continued to C-Slutspel after reaching 10:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Raklev G&I, Danmark 2 with 11-14. In the Final, Raklev G&I, Danmark 2 won over Halmstad Handboll 1 and became the winner of C-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
