Blåmusslorna was one of 324 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They participated with one team in Motionsklass Damer.
In addition to Blåmusslorna, 39 other teams played in Motionsklass Damer. They were divided into 8 different groups, whereof Blåmusslorna could be found in Group 4 together with Vi, Halmstad Handboll Tant 2, Solar Plexus and Powerpuffpinglorna. Blåmusslorna continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Eslövslågan with 2-8. In the Final, Bortamatchen won over Eslövslågan and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Motionsklass Damer. Blåmusslorna comes from Malmö which lies approximately 87 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place.
