In addition to the three IFK Tumba Sthlm teams, 37 other teams played in Herrar Junior 97-99. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof IFK Tumba Sthlm 2 could be found in Group 2 together with Rørby-Værslev IF (DK), H 65 Höör 1, IK Sävehof Partille, Ystads IF HF, Lugi HF 1, Uppsala HK 1, Vadstena HF, Halmstad Handboll 1 and Åhus Handboll 2.

IFK Tumba Sthlm 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Halmstad Handboll 2 with 8-9. In the Final, HK Ankaret Bjärred won over Ystads IF HF and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Herrar Junior 97-99.
