In addition to the two Tyresö teams, 41 other teams played in Herrar Junior 98-00. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Tyresö Handboll 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Halmstad Handboll 3, OV Helsingborg HK, Rørby/Værslev IF, IK Baltichov 3, Uppsala HK 1, HK Malmö 2, Eslövs HF and Vinslövs HK.

Tyresö Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) with 7-8. In the Final, IFK Kristianstad 2 won over IK Sävehof and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Herrar Junior 98-00.
