In addition to the two Hammarby teams, 47 other teams played in Flickor 2008. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Hammarby IF HF 1 could be found in Group 4 together with HK Ankaret - Pirayorna, IFK Kristianstad 1, IFK Malmö HF 1, Tollarps IF 2, Bjärnums HK 1, Lödde Vikings HK 1, Gökstens BK 2, Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll and Trelleborg Handbollsklubb RB.

Hammarby IF HF 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Lödde Vikings HK 1 with 6-8. In the Final, Lödde Vikings HK 1 won over Lödde Vikings HK 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2008.
