In addition to Australia, 11 other teams from 11 different countries played in Women. They were divided into 2 different groups, whereof Australia could be found in Women Pool C together with Turkey, Russia, Japan, Israel and Sweden.
Australia continued to Playoff A after reaching 4:th place in Women Pool C. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Brazil with 2-5. In the Final, Russia won over Turkey and became the winner of Playoff A in Women.
