In addition to the three Halmstad teams, 41 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 2 could be found in Group 4 together with Åhus Handboll 1, Karlskrona Handboll 2, Tollarps IF, Vinslövs HK 2, IFK Kristianstad 4, Önnereds HK Gbg, IF Guif Eskilstuna 1, LVHK Lödde 3, Ystads IF HF 1 and Ljunghusens HK 2.

Halmstad Handboll 2 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Alingsås HK 2 with 3-4. In the Final, Alingsås HK 2 won over LVHK Lödde 2 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D1.
