In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 56 other teams played in Flickor 2001 B2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 1 could be found in Group 2 together with IFK Klagshamn 1, TV Bodenheim 1848, Kristianstad HK 2, Kävlinge HK 1, Gustavsbergs IF HK 2, Kärra HF Göteborg, Kristianstad HK 1 and IF Guif Eskilstuna.

Halmstad Handboll 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against LVHK Lödde 1 with 7-10. In the Final, Eslövs IK won over IFK Klagshamn 2 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Flickor 2001 B2.
