In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Skogås HK Sthlm 1, IFK Bankeryd 2, Växjö HF 2, IK Lågan Hörby 1, H43 Lund 3, IK Sävehof Partille, Norrköpings HK, Kävlinge HK 1 and Eslövs HF 1.

Halmstad Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund 4 with 8-10. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
