In addition to the two Kävlinge teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Kävlinge HK 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Skogås HK Sthlm 1, IFK Bankeryd 2, Växjö HF 2, IK Lågan Hörby 1, H43 Lund 3, Halmstad Handboll 1, IK Sävehof Partille, Norrköpings HK and Eslövs HF 1.

Kävlinge HK 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Eksjö BK with 10-11. In the Final, Ystads IF HF 2 won over Eksjö BK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
