In addition to the two Kävlinge teams, 56 other teams played in Flickor 2001 B2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Kävlinge HK 2 could be found in Group 4 together with IK Lågan Hörby 2, Gökstens BK Torshälla, Dalhems IF Malmö, LVHK Lödde 2, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm 2, Näsby Handboll 1, KFUM Kalmar HK 1 and Ystads IF HF 2.

Kävlinge HK 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund 1 with 6-10. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over Näsby Handboll 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2001 B2.
