In addition to the two Önnereds Gbg teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Önnereds HK Gbg 2 could be found in Group 4 together with Karlskrona Handboll 3, Borås HK 84 2, IFK Tumba Sthlm 1, Eksjö BK, Uppsala HK 2, IFK Kristianstad 4, Vinslövs HK, H43 Lund 2 and Hässleholms HF.

Önnereds HK Gbg 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Uppsala HK 3 with 6-12. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
