In addition to the two Kristianstad teams, 68 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Kristianstad HK 1 could be found in Group 3 together with Eslövs HF 3, Lugi HF 2, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm, HK Guldkroken Hjo, Kävlinge HK 1, Halmstad Handboll 2, Ystads IF HF 1, Hultsfreds HF and Uppsala HK 2.

Kristianstad HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against H43 Lund 1 with 9-13. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over H43 Lund 4 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
