In addition to the 5 Ystads teams, 65 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Ystads IF HF 1 could be found in Group 3 together with Eslövs HF 3, Lugi HF 2, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm, Kristianstad HK 1, HK Guldkroken Hjo, Kävlinge HK 1, Halmstad Handboll 2, Hultsfreds HF and Uppsala HK 2.

Ystads IF HF 1 continued to C-Slutspel after reaching 9:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against HK Aranäs Kungsbacka 1 with 8-9. In the Final, Raklev G&I, Danmark 2 won over Halmstad Handboll 1 and became the winner of C-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
