In addition to the two Kävlinge teams, 68 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Kävlinge HK 1 could be found in Group 3 together with Eslövs HF 3, Lugi HF 2, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm, Kristianstad HK 1, HK Guldkroken Hjo, Halmstad Handboll 2, Ystads IF HF 1, Hultsfreds HF and Uppsala HK 2.

Kävlinge HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Åhus Handboll 2 with 8-12. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over H43 Lund 4 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
