Sorunda IF Sthlm was one of 284 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017. They participated with two teams in Flickor 2000 A2 and Handboll För Alla respectively. The team in Handboll För Alla made it to the the in Gruppspel, but lost it against Zliproad CSC/IFK Tumba HK by 5-8.

In addition to this, Sorunda IF Sthlm have participated in Åhus Beachhandboll Festival before. During Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016, Sorunda Sthlm had 5 teams playing in Pojkar 2004 C1, Pojkar 2003 C2, Pojkar 1999 A2, Flickor 2000 A1 and Flickor 1999 A2 respectively. The team in Flickor 1999 A2 made it to the the Final in A-Slutspel, but lost it against H43 Lund 2 by 12-16.

Sorunda Sthlm comes from Sorunda which lies approximately 400 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place. The area around Sorunda does also provide 16 additional clubs participating during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017 (Among others: Sannadals SK Stockholm, Älta IF Stockholm, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm, Zliproad CSC/IFK Tumba HK, Skogås HK Sthlm, Årsta AIK Stockholm, Hanviken Handboll, HK Cliff, The Gausels and Heja Höör Fett som Smör).
