In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 45 other teams played in Flickor 2000 A2. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 2 could be found in Group 3 together with Spånga HK Stockholm 2, H43 Lund 2, Uppsala HK 1, Enköpings HF, IK Sävehof Partille, Åhus Handboll 2, IK Lågan Hörby, Trelleborg HBK 1 and Tyresö Handboll 2.

Halmstad Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Uppsala HK Mix with 9-10. In the Final, Trelleborg HBK 1 won over Eslövs IK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2000 A2.
