In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 58 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 A1. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 2 could be found in Group 4 together with H43 Lund 5, Växjö HF 1, Hässleholms HF, IFK Tumba Sthlm 2, Uppsala HK 2, IFK Kristianstad 2, Åhus Handboll 1, Redbergslids IK Gbg and HK Eskil Eskilstuna.
Halmstad Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Borlänge HK with 10-11. In the Final, Enköpings HF 1 won over Borlänge HK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 A1. Halmstad Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016.
