In addition to the two Sävehof teams, 58 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof IK Sävehof 1 could be found in Group 5 together with IFK Kristianstad 4, IFK Bankeryd, Rimbo HK Roslagen, Raklev G&I Raklev 2, IK Bolton 1, H43 Lund HF migogang, OV Helsingborg HK, Ystads IF HF 1 and Halmstad Handboll 1.

IK Sävehof 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund HF 1 with 9-10. In the Final, H43 Lund HF migogang won over IK Sävehof 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002.
