In addition to the two Önnereds Gbg teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Önnereds HK Gbg 1 could be found in Group 5 together with IK Bolton Sthlm 2, Kävlinge HK 2, Kristianstad HK 2, GF Kroppskultur Uddevalla, H43 Lund 1, Ystads IF HF 2, Uppsala HK 3 and IFK Bankeryd 1.

Önnereds HK Gbg 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Ronneby HK 2 with 14-16. In the Final, Ystads IF HF 2 won over Eksjö BK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
