In addition to the two Trelleborg teams, 58 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Trelleborg Handbollsklubb 2 could be found in Group 3 together with Hultsfreds HF, Kärra HF, H43 Lund HF 2, Vallentuna HK, HK Silwing/Troja hk silwing/troja, Uppsala HK 1, IFK Kristianstad 2, VästeråsIrsta HF and Eslövs HF.

Trelleborg Handbollsklubb 2 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Eskilstuna Guif IF with 9-11. In the Final, IFK Kristianstad 1 won over Ystads IF HF 3 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002.
