In addition to Tyresö Handboll, 56 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Tyresö Handboll could be found in Group 3 together with H43 Lund HF 6, OV Helsingborg HK, Eskilstuna Guif IF, Växjö HF, IK Lågan Hörby, IK Bolton 1, IFK Kristianstad 1, HK Aranäs and Alingsås HK.

Tyresö Handboll continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) with 8-9. In the Final, IK Sävehof 1 won over Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.
