In addition to the four Bolton teams, 53 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof IK Bolton 1 could be found in Group 3 together with H43 Lund HF 6, OV Helsingborg HK, Eskilstuna Guif IF, Växjö HF, IK Lågan Hörby, IFK Kristianstad 1, HK Aranäs, Alingsås HK and Tyresö Handboll.

IK Bolton 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll 2 with 10-14. In the Final, Växjö HF won over OV Helsingborg HK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.
