In addition to the three Halmstad teams, 41 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 1 could be found in Group 1 together with H 78 Sölvesborg, Vinslövs HK 1, Eslövs HF 2, LVHK Lödde 1, Uppsala HK, Karlskrona Handboll 1, IK Lågan Hörby 1, IFK Kristianstad 3, GF Kroppskultur Uddevalla and Staffanstorps HK.

Halmstad Handboll 1 continued to C-Slutspel after reaching 10:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Ljunghusens HK 2 with 2-3. In the Final, Ljunghusens HK 2 won over HK Hök Laholm and became the winner of C-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D1.
