In addition to the two LUGI teams, 65 other teams played in Flickor 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof LUGI HF 1 could be found in Group 5 together with Spånga HK Stockholm 2, IFK Tumba Sthlm 2, H 65 Höör 3, Eslövs IK 2, Näsby Handboll 1, Borlänge HK 4, Karlskrona Handboll 1, IFK Karlsborg and Åhus Handboll 2.

LUGI HF 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Alingsås HK 2 with 10-11. In the Final, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm won over Kärra HF Göteborg and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2002 B1.
