In addition to the four Borlänge teams, 63 other teams played in Flickor 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Borlänge HK 4 could be found in Group 5 together with Spånga HK Stockholm 2, IFK Tumba Sthlm 2, H 65 Höör 3, LUGI HF 1, Eslövs IK 2, Näsby Handboll 1, Karlskrona Handboll 1, IFK Karlsborg and Åhus Handboll 2.

Borlänge HK 4 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Skuru IK Sthlm 2 with 7-14. In the Final, Åhus Handboll 3 won over Åhus Handboll 1 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Flickor 2002 B1.
