In addition to the four Borlänge teams, 63 other teams played in Flickor 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Borlänge HK 2 could be found in Group 3 together with H43 Lund 3, Halmstad Handboll, Eslövs IK 1, Staffanstorps HK 2, Skuru IK Sthlm 1, Kristianstad HK 1, Vetlanda HF 1, Bjärnums HK and Spånga HK Stockholm 1.

Borlänge HK 2 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Skuru IK Sthlm 2 with 7-8. In the Final, Åhus Handboll 3 won over Åhus Handboll 1 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Flickor 2002 B1.
