In addition to Trelleborg HBK, 69 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Trelleborg HBK could be found in Group 1 together with Halmstad Handboll 1, H43 Lund 2, Alingsås HK 2, Åhus Handboll 2, IF Guif Eskilstuna, Ystads IF HF 3, Uppsala HK 1, Mönsterås HK and IFK Kristianstad 1.

Trelleborg HBK continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 2 with 7-8. In the Final, Lugi HF 2 won over H 65 Höör and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
